"Finding Anastasia Romanov" Part 2 (03/05/07)

Scene Three: The Mansion

A silent nod is the only response as Jason blends into the shadows. Silently wondering how good of an idea it is to split the force, Kahn dutifully follows behind his stealthy companion, but at a distance, ready for an unseen enemy to spring out and attack. He may be the greatest martial artist on Earth, but he's no ninja...

Jack wants to question Andrew, but won't at this point. Splitting up seems like a bad idea, but the Ninja's should be able to stay alive, he supposes.

Seeing that the others start to head up the stairs, Liza Beth looks at Andrew to see if he starts to move, and when he dosen't she says, "Andrew... I think it is best that we too start to move because I think we are just wasting time standing here."

Andrew nods and responds "You have point, Liza. Let's get moving." Andrew switches the rifle's selector to single shot once more.

"Sure thing" responds Liza Beth with her sword at the ready as she carefully starts heading for the right cooridor to the first door.Jack follows, in the rear, trying to remain quiet and alert, watching their six.

Jason & Khan

The two oriental adventurers head up the stairs. Briefly looking back down, they notice Jack and the others head to the right. They return their attention to their own task at hand. They arrive at the top of the stairs, where they can get a better look at the portraits.

All are of blue-skinned humanoids which they could clearly see from below. There are two men and two women in their own individual portraits. The men both lok similar in appearance, though one is clearly older than the other one is. The older of the two men is noted as being "Olidur Blackwind". The somewhat younger man is listed as "Oliver Blackwind". Looking over at the two women, they are identical except for one small fact. Both of the women have stark black hair, but the one listed as "August Blackwind" has a purple streak running through her bangs. "Alidane Blackwind" does not have this same detail.

Looking left and right, it appears that both directions lead around corners. They cannot be certain of what lies in either direction.

Jason instinctively reaches out with his senses, trying to pick up something... female perhaps? A scent, a whisper. Something to put him on the right track.

Using Awareness for this one

Kahn quietly follows Jason's lead. Kahn knows if anyone can track the missing friends, it'd be Jason. All Kahn has to do is be ready for a surprise attack, should be simple... He wonders what's special about the twins as he hasn't heard their names before.

Jack, Andrew and Liza Beth

Liza Beth slowly opens the first door. It is easy to identify it as a small room for coat storage. There are a few jackets hanging up as well as a cloak. There is a thin layer of dust indicating that these objects haven't been touched in a while.

There are three more doors down the length of this cooridor.

Liza Beth quitly closes the door then heads for the next door down the hall.

Jack brings up the rear, keeping his weapons ready to blast any assailants.

Andrew looks around, keeping an eye out for any clues as to where the captives are being held. However, he also keeps an eye out for guards, his hands tightly gripping the rifle in anticipation of a fight at any moment.

Making a Perception check to see if there's any guards OR to find some clue where the prisoners are; will spend a Possibility to reroll a die roll of 9 or lower.

One thing I recalled doing wrong recently is the fact that you only recover your hands at the end of a scene or at the end of combat. So if you play a card out of combat, you are short that card(s) until the end of the scene or the end of the next combat.
Good to know.

Please be sure to post your comments/actions in the appropriate section for the group you are traveling with.
